Subdivision 1.2.0 Released

Release Notes:

  • Smarter and faster processing. Subdivision now intelligently reads only the required revisions from the input repository or dump file. This means that when extracting a small number of files, the time savings can be tremendous especially when processing multi-gigabyte repositories. To enable this feature, please select the “Drop empty revisions and renumber” output option
  • Loading of the file structure from a dump file is now dramatically faster
  • Subdivision can now optionally drop any existing empty revisions that may exist in the input repository
  • The history view can now optionally show the modification in a file. Previously it was displaying only the additions, moves, copies and deletions
  • Introduced processing dialogs for some long running operations to prevent the application from appearing frozen and unresponsive
  • Open Recent Project table has been reworked to show the project type, input type and data location
  • Fixed a bug where the Open Recent Project table was not always updating the display order
  • Fixed the Update checker to show the correct software update location (prod version)
  • Fixed a bug that could cause the processing to fail at the end of the operation
  • Update SVN libraries to version 1.8.15
  • Various other small tweaks and fixes
  • March 4, 2016

Subdivision 1.1.0 Released

Release Notes:

  • This release packs some impressive memory and computing optimizations to allow Subdivision to work with repositories or dump files containing millions of files and hundreds of thousands of revisions.
  • Improvements in memory management means that we can now load repositories with multiple millions of files in the 32-bit memory space
  • Improved the initial loading algorithms by eliminating a time consuming step that could take multiple minutes to complete when loading large repositories.
  • Improved the way the user selections are stored in the project files to fix an extremely rare case that could result in the wrong files being selected at loading
  • Fixed a bug where memory would not be freed properly when a project was closed
  • Fixed the logging levels to reduce the size of log files
  • Fixed the sorting of Copies in the Details view
  • Now showing 10 recent projects rather than 5
  • Various other small bug-fixes and user interface improvements
  • December 14, 2015

  • Various small bug-fixes

Subdivision 1.0.0 Released

Release Notes:

  • Proudly presenting Subdivision to the world!
  • Subdivision is the first intelligent subversion repository manipulation tool on the market
  • Makes it trivially easy to:
    • Delete (or if you prefer, obliterate) files and folders from a Subversion repository history
    • Extract files and folders from a Subversion repository preserving all relevant history
    • Split a Subversion repository in two parts while preserving all history
  • Subdivision uses sophisticated algorithms to analyze the file copy/move history and identify all files required  in addition to your selection so that the operation succeeds on the first pass. No more cryptic errors from svndumpfilter such as “E200003: Invalid copy source path” or “E160013: File not found”
  • Subdivision offers unprecedented insight into your repository by showing the deleted files in the tree. Also shows extra information about a file such as the original addition, the copies made to a file as well as the file’s history in the Details and History panels.
  • User selections are augmented immediately in the same tree
  • Works directly on a repository or on an svn dump file
  • Outputs a new repository or dump file
  • Works in scenarios that are impossible to achieve using svndumpfilter
